And they, continued daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from
house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart.
(Acts 2:46)
And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach
Jesus Christ. (Acts 5:42)
The mission of Care Groups is to care for and equip believers,
to reach the lost, and to recover prodigals. In Care Groups, friendships are
developed, people discover their untapped gifts and leadership potential, the Word
and the message are discussed, prayers are offered and prayers are answered!
People learn to "care for one another" and meet one another's needs.
Care Groups have different personalities. Some groups
have a fellowship mealtime, while others offer light refreshments. Some meet
on the weekend, and others meet during the week. Some are targeted to the
more mature-in-age saints while others are targeted to young families or people
with similar interests or similar concerns.
Your level of participation is up to you. All that is required
of you is your heart for God and for people. You will be given opportunities to
participate in various areas of ministry. Care Group members and Care Pastors perform
much of the background work that is necessary for Victory Life Church to continue
to grow in excellence.
Wherever you are in your walk with the Lord or in your walk
in life, there is a Care Group available to meet your needs. We have
Care Groups located in Durant, Mead, Kenefic, Achille, Cartwright, Coleman, Kingston,
Roberta, Tishomingo, Atoka, Lane, Boswell, Hugo, Broken Bow, Sherman, Pottsboro,
Gainesville, Whitesboro, Gordonville, Howe, Bonham, and Brownwood.
Young or old, married or single, active or settled, there are groups for everyone,
meeting at various times throughout the week and in a location close to you.
Our Care Pastors are easy to find at every service. Simply look
for the people wearing gold name badges. They are well-trained, discipled Christians
who exhibit the Biblical characteristics as defined by the Apostle Paul in Galatians
5. Care Pastors must be mature Christians who are committed to Christ and demonstrate
the fruit of the Spirit in their lives. They must have a good reputation,
be faithful and reliable, teach sound doctrine, continue in the study of the Word,
and see themselves as servants. They must be willing to care for and be available
to serve members of their Care Group, the leadership of our fellowship, and
all the members of the body of Christ. They are required to complete membership
classes, to prove themselves faithful members of Victory Life, to be active in a
Care Group and to be submissive to eldership.
