Volume 2 Issue 10 October 2008

Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security, will deserve neither and lose both.

~Benjamin Franklin~

Pastors and leaders everywhere… You do not want to miss the Rural America Missions Conference scheduled for January 29 –30, 2009. Details on registering are on the ad below. Pastor Duane Sheriff will be ministering, as will Pastor David Kerr and Pastor Mike Connaway.

Pastor David Kerr is Senior Pastor of The Vine Fellowship in Arlington, TX and has been pastoring  there since 1990. His ministry philosophy is, “Out of the pulpit and into the pews,” to touch the heart and lives of God’s people.

Mike Connaway has recently associated his ministry with Duane Sheriff Ministries. He is fondly called “Coach Mike” by his friends and associates because of his dynamic and motivating presentation of the Gospel.

The Brotherhood meets every third Saturday of the month at 7:00 a.m. in the VictoryLife Academy cafeteria where they share breakfast, singing, fellowship and encouragement. The October meeting will be held on the 18th.

From the March E-Newsletter, you will remember the Brotherhood were on a project in South Africa to make repairs on a chapel near an AIDS hospital.  Here are pictures of services in that chapel.

Coat and Blanket Drive

The Clothing Bank is hosting their 2nd annual "Kids Undercover Coat & Blanket Drive", collecting new and slightly used coats and blankets for needy families. We will be accepting donations at Victory Life in Durant on Sunday, September 28th, Thursday, October 2nd and again on Sunday, October 5th before and after each service at the north entrance. Cash donations are also welcomed. Our distribution day is set for Saturday, October 18th at the food bank warehouse located at the corner of 8th and Main St. in Durant. We really need our church family to help make this a successful "Kids Undercover Coat and Blanket Drive." For more information contact Sue Stanfield at 580.920.2574

Remodeling will be going on at the Youth Building in Durant during October. The meeting will still be in Durant, but in the Chapel.

Reports are that Singles Conference in September was outstanding. If you missed it, plan ahead for next year.

Again… One In Him will be meeting in the Victory Life Chapel in Durant, at 7:00 pm during the month of October. Be there!
