The stories vary about the who, what, where and when of Valentine’s Day.
Here is one version you might enjoy:
Valentine's Day History
Some experts state that it
originated from St. Valentine, a Roman who was martyred for refusing to
give up Christianity. He died on February 14, 269 A.D. Legend also says
that St. Valentine left a farewell note for the jailer's daughter, who
had become his friend, and signed it, "From Your Valentine." Other
aspects of the story say that Saint Valentine served as a priest at the
temple during the reign of Emperor Claudius. Claudius then had Valentine
jailed for defying him. In 496 A.D. Pope Gelasius set aside February 14
to honor St. Valentine.

RAM CONFERENCE REPORT
What a rewarding experience for all involved! We had seven different men
of God speaking into the lives of 250 pastors and leaders. These
represented 48 different churches from nine states. Focus points
included: The priority of
God and family before the job; not putting your joy in the hands of
others; recognizing that change has to start with
me;
not getting caught up in the spirit of excuse; avoiding the trap of
measuring success by numbers;
preparing for greatness and the necessity of having a pure heart. |

Business Development Team
Victory Life Durant |

|
Our small
business ministry will meet the 4th Tuesday evening of each month,
beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel (Durant). Each month,
there will be a different speaker presenting information that small
businesses need to grow their business (speakers from the workers comp
office, insurance companies, IT people, bankers, REI, etc.).
There will be a panel of business people, along with the speaker, to
answer questions and guide our small business owners. The focus is
the Kingdom, and running business in a kingdom manner.
Everyone is invited, though it is intended for new and existing business
people. It is open to other churches and the community.
Our kickoff meeting, explaining the strategy for this ministry was
Tuesday, January 29th. |
