Instruction Methods

We are excited that you are interested in Victory Life College. We are encouraged about your desire to seek a deeper relationship with the one true and living God and together, through relationship, we will help you embark on the next leg of this journey in your Christian walk.

In order to facilitate this, you will be assigned to a proctor who will mentor you through this program of study. Your proctor will be the one who will grade your work, monitor your progress and grow in relationship with you as you complete the courses. This relationship that you will develop with your proctor is imperative as you grow in your knowledge and relationship in the Lord and with his anointed authorities in this ministry.

Online Instruction

If you choose to pursue your Program of Study online, you must first select the number of courses you would like to enroll in. Remember, you must complete the courses in sequence. You will then be mailed a packet of material for each course. This packet will consist of a set of audio CDs containing the lectures and a CD containing the lesson plans. Each lesson will be in Microsoft Word. You will then listen to each message and fill out the accompanying lesson plans. Your proctor will be available to answer any questions that you may have as your work through the material; grading and giving you feedback on the lessons that you have submitted. When you have completed the entire course, you will email the completed lessons to your proctor. If you print out your completed lesson study guides, you will have excellent sermon / Bible study outlines that you may use in your believer’s ministry.

U.S. Mail Instruction

If do not have access to e-mail, you may choose the same course of study and simply mail the lessons to your proctor.

Upon the successful completion of the application process we will provide you with the materials for your first course.

Change in Requirements:

Comprehensive Knowledge Review

There has been a change in the course requirements. We believe the summary requirement of two pages is insufficient for a comprehensive review of the entire message. As you listen to each audio CD and complete the lesson assignment, please reflect on the lesson and make notes of how the message has impacted your walk. Once you have completed the entire homework assignment, reflect to ensure that you have seen the Godly principles so that you can explain and define how to live out the teaching according to the word of God. Then, write a paper that summarizes what you have learned and the effect that it has personally had on your walk with the Lord. This paper has no maximum limit to its length, but it must be at least one page (single spaced) per hour of teaching. The paper will be graded as evidence that you have understood this teaching and how it has personally impacted your walk with the Christ. Let this paper be your mouthpiece to communicate with us your understanding:

Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks(Mt 12:34).

Required Reference Material:

King James Bible
Pastor Duane uses the King James Version of the Bible as a primary text and each student is required to use this same version at least for the purpose of answering the questions that will be asked in the courseware. Other translations are perfectly fine for clarification of answers or for enhancing an answer beyond that which is seen in the King James but the basic responses will be required from the same text that Pastor Duane is teaching from.
A Strong’s or Vine’s concordance w/ dictionary
A valid concordance is paramount to proper study of the Bible and there will be multiple questions based specifically on definitions that come straight from the original texts as defined by a reputable concordance dictionary.
A reputable dictionary of the English language
We recommend the Oxford English Dictionary (available on CD Rom) because it has the currently used definitions of words plus many times the word usage from “Old English” which is the language used at the time of translation of the King James Bible.
A reputable Bible dictionary (such as any or all of the following)
  • Easton’s Bible Dictionary
  • Bamford’s Bible Dictionary
  • Hitchcock’s Bible Name Dictionary

*All of these materials are available on CD Rom or in hard back book format at a Christian book store (or on-line). Utilizing electronic data makes the process of transferring answers to the courseware a simple and timesaving process.

Optional Material:

  • A PDF writer program will give you the ability to type your answers directly into the PDF format courseware and send it back to your proctor via email. The basic cost for a PDF writer program is about $40.00 and can be downloaded from the internet. It will make the homework assignments much easier to complete, save, and send back to the college for grading.
  • Skype is a free download program that is available for digital video conferencing. I recommend that you consider this powerful tool so that you can develop a face-to-face relationship with your proctor. Go to www.Skype.com for the free downloadable software.
